"Courtney organized several outdoor exploring field trips for our PreK and Kindergarten classroom during the years 2021-2023. She also organized several nature experiences for Xavier University's Montessori Teacher Interns. All outings that Courtney organized shared the same characteristics: relevant curriculum, interactive, enthusiastic delivery and hands-on activities that were appropriate for the students’ age all the way from 3 years old to 30. It was a pleasure for me to observe and learn from Courtney. Her ability to share her passion for nature and what it can do for children is authentic and a true gift."
"I've had the pleasure of co-presenting with Courtney Ryan on outdoor education at conferences, and have to share that she is hands-down the best presenter and outdoor educator I've worked with. Her extensive knowledge, skill, and passion for this work is reflected in all that she does. Courtney is undoubtedly changing how Cincinnati families, schools and communities view childhood, education, and the transformative benefits of nature-based programs and play. I can't recommend her highly enough!"
"It is a delight to work with CommuniTree! I have been so inspired by their commitment for creating spaces - both literally and collectively between individuals and organizations - for communities to connect with nature and each other, all while advocating for reducing barriers and meeting everyone's needs. Courtney is a magnetic community-builder. She brings together diverse people, creates comfortable spaces, and illuminates efficient pathways to advance every project she leads. CommuniTree is an asset to greater Cincinnati communities and all of the organizations lucky enough to work with them."
"CommuniTree’s passion and vision for outdoor education has enriched the learning of students at Sands Montessori and united our school community around the beautiful natural playscape that they worked hard to create with a holistic approach. Initially, they shared research about the many benefits of spending time in nature. I was intrigued to learn that nature play stimulates creativity and problem solving and boosts cognitive skills. They shared this research and vision with our school staff and parent organization during listening and feedback sessions. Through this work, they championed fund raising to plant 70 trees to bring shade to our campus and collaboratively design and build a natural playscape. Volunteers from our school community and neighborhood invested over 350 hours in the project. CommuniTree also enlisted the help of community partners to provide tools and materials to landscape and fence the area. Their vision and dedication to creating exceptional natural environments and learning experiences are second to none!"
